Violence

Art direction, music video

Music video for "Atlas of CC" by Violence. The main notion of the song is a contemplation on different phases of life that we go through as individuals. The visuals of the video mirrors these changes by feeding found imagery into a GAN that outputs unlimited abstract visuals that morph in and out of each other.

NORF STUDIO

Identity, webdesign

Norf is an audiovisual content production company based in Copenhagen. Working in the intersection between audio and visuals, creating engaging productions for a number of different clients. The main variable symbol system is an abstraction of different waveforms, i.e. a visual representation of sound. These main system elements can be added into larger elements that create patterns or can be subtracted into smaller elements that can be used for icons, UI elements, etc. The logotype is set in Neue Machina by Pangram Pangram that conveys seriousness and technicality, while also being quite quirky - which is exactly what lies at the core of Norf.

Violence

Identity, art direction, artwork
Album artwork
12" lyric sheet inlay

Violence is a synth pop ensemble from Copenhagen. I had the pleasure to work on the visual identity of the band and work on their debut album entitled Area Sub Rosa. Sub rosa denotes secrecy or confidentiality. Since ancient times, the rose has often been associated with secrecy. In ancient mythology, Cupid gave a rose to Harpocrates to keep him from telling about the indiscretions of Venus. Ceilings of dining rooms have been decorated with carvings of roses, reportedly to remind guests that what was said at the table should be kept confidential.

The visual concept behind the artwork came from this exact notion of secrecy and creating a space where things are left confidential, i.e. the space where we leave things unsaid.

Bloom

Motion design
Metro advertising
Advert for social media and public transport around Copenhagen

Bloom is a natural science festival held annually in Søndermarken, an area between the Copenhagen boroughs of Frederiksberg and Valby. The festival focuses on natural science and addresses everything from the darkness of the universe to the body's microbes. The motion design mirrors how ideas and knowledge are in a constant state of flux, always changing and expanding into new ideas. I produced different video adverts and all video visuals that were used on site during the festival. Done at Studio C.

Type Distort

Creative code, personal project

Lately I have been getting into the idea of using computation and generative tools to create patterns, type, symbols, etc. that can either lead to computer generated results that you might not have envisioned, make the outcome an interactive result between the software and the user, or create visuals based on data, sound or behaviour. This is one of my first experiments with distorted type that can be altered by the user: Either by letting the user set the different parameters by which the type distorts or by interacting with the viewport itself.

Photography

Landingpage with user generated photographic diptychs

Website created for my personal photographic endeavers documenting man-made landscapes, subcultures, objects, and the occasional portrait. The site consists of an interactive split view where the user can generate photographic diptychs of a set array of photographs.

Mayday magazine

Layout

Mayday is an independent magazine about the changes facing people, culture, society, and technology. With special attention to independent thinking and strong character, Mayday features the originals, the creatives, the heroes, and the anti-heroes who shape our society with new ideas or surprising perspectives drawing on the best from our past. I had the pleasure to work quite extensively on Mayday issue three while at Trouble.
